Blackjack is one of the most well-loved casino games around and is also one of the easiest games to learn and understand. It is considered to be one of the most exhilarating casino games that you can play, involving a great deal of skill.

The main objective of 21 blackjack is for the value of your cards to total as close to 21 but not exceeding it. The values of the cards are indicated by their numbers but Jacks, Queens and Kings are 10 points with the Aces being either 1 or 11. The first ace that is dealt to a person is given the value of 11 unless at the end this results in a score of over 21. If this happens then it is given the value of 1. All aces dealt after this are valued as 1.

How to play 21 Blackjack

In order to win 21 Blackjack you need to beat the dealer without exceeding the total of 21. Should your cards total over 21 you will be declared as bust. The winner is whichever person is closest to 21 after adding up the value of their cards.

Before the game can begin and the cards are dealt each person playing will need to place a bet. Once this has been completed each player is dealt two cards placed face up whilst the dealer gets one face up and the other facing down. At this point you are given the choice of either sticking with your cards or receiving more to try and reach the 21 total. Once the players have their cards the dealer will turnover their face down card. It is a given rule that on counts of 17 plus the dealer will stay and on counts of 16 or below then the dealer will draw.

Should you reach a total of 21 exactly with your first two cards you will be declared the winner automatically. This is what is known as Blackjack. However if the dealer also reaches 21 straightaway it results in a Push or a Tie in which case you will receive the amount of your bet back.

All of the remaining players who have a higher count than the dealer will win a total equal to the bet they placed. Those with a lower count than the dealer lose. Should the dealer exceed 21 and be declared bust then all the players left will win.
